The Mechanical Service Engineer provides timely and proper technical service support to Rieckermann Philippines customers that focuses on food processing equipment and equipment for packaging materials. This includes installations, reinstallations, troubleshooting, commissioning, and preventive maintenance for complex and conventional machines.  

Job Duties

Technical Service

•  Installation of mechanical machinery and plant components according to plans and engineering drawings.
• Preventive maintenance
• Perform emergency service at the customer’s site, if needed 
• Troubleshoot via phone, email or in person
• Email communication with machine manufactures for troubleshooting support and technical clarifications
• Attend meetings with regards to installations, service matters, technical solutions, and administrative matters of the company
• Cooperate and coordinate with team members and other departments to offer solutions that fulfill the customer’s needs

Reporting

• Provide customer with service/installation reports
• Submit service reports and job cards/time sheets to manager 
• Gather and report information at customer site regarding process and quality concerns, to create new business opportunities

Spare Parts

• Provide information and help customer to upgrade/retrofit their machine (spare parts recommendation)
• Cost-conscious and sensitive handling of spare parts and work equipment

Customer Relationship

• Train customers to operate/maintain machine
• Provide excellent service to customers by giving undivided attention and focus on meeting their needs
• Anticipate questions, concerns, and future issues and provide solutions, which will consistently result in repeated business and word of mouth referrals and increased quality of service providing
• Find solutions to customer problems and complaints to maximize satisfaction

Job Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Technology 
• Minimum of 5 years experience in same industry and field servicing activities
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Goal-oriented, dynamic and high sense of responsibility
• Able to work well under pressure
• Able to work self-reliantly
• Team and disciplined working spirits
• Effective planning, analytical and implementation skills
• Proficiency in MS Office Applications 
• Excellent written and verbal English skills
• Readiness to travel frequently and on short notice
