What we do:


The Plastic Flamingo, aka The Plaf, is a social enterprise with a pilot project in the Philippines (Manila).


Our core mission is to tackle marine plastic pollution by collecting and recycling ocean-bound plastic waste in emerging countries with maximum social impact.


We started the venture in 2018 and we are now managing a plastic collection network of about 300 collection points in Metro Manila (schools, villages, condominiums, offices, stores, etc.) and have already collected more than 1,000 Tons of plastic waste.


We also developed a large range of offers for corporations willing to offset their plastic footprint. We are one of the very few pioneer companies in the world inventing and spreading the plastic compensation concept (EPR & CSR).


We started recycling plastic waste in a demo facility in 2020 and launched in 2023 a full size facility in Muntinlupa (South of Metro Manila).


We produce 100% recycled plastic eco-boards (compression molding process) and rHDPE pellets. We also have a carpentry workshop, where we design and manufacture various products made with our eco-boards, especially furniture pieces.


Job Summary:


The Communications and Marketing Jr. Manager is responsible for supporting the development and execution of The Plastic Flamingo's (The Plaf) marketing and communications strategies. This role involves assisting in the creation of compelling content, managing social media campaigns, coordinating events, and providing the sales team with the necessary tools and support to drive business growth. The ideal candidate will be a creative, detail-oriented individual with a passion for sustainability and strong communication skills.


Key Responsibilities:


Marketing Plan Development & Execution:

  • Execute the annual marketing plan, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and budgetary guidelines.
  • Monitor the progress of marketing initiatives, track key performance indicators (KPIs), and make necessary adjustments to optimize results.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless implementation of marketing programs.


Strategic Planning & Brand Enhancement:

  • Develop and implement strategic initiatives designed to enhance brand visibility and credibility in the marketplace.
  • Contribute to the development of marketing campaigns that promote The Plaf’s mission, values, and sustainable products.
  • Identify opportunities to strengthen brand positioning through targeted communications and creative content.


Digital Marketing Management:

  • Manage various social media platforms (e.g., Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Twitter) to increase brand awareness and engagement.
  • Oversee website content updates, SEO optimization, and performance analytics to improve user experience and drive traffic.
  • Implement digital marketing campaigns, including email marketing, social media advertising, and content distribution strategies.


Event Management & Coordination:

  • Assume responsibility for the overall coordination of The Plaf’s programs, events, conferences, and exhibits, ensuring seamless execution.
  • Manage event logistics, including venue selection, vendor coordination, promotional activities, and on-site support.
  • Develop event marketing plans to maximize attendance and generate leads.
  • Evaluate event success through post-event surveys and performance analysis, providing recommendations for future improvements.


Qualifications:


  • 3-5 years of experience in a Marketing or Communications role, with expertise in event management, digital marketing, content creation, and corporate communications.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex topics clearly and simply.
  • Proven experience in event management, from planning to execution.
  • Familiarity with lead acquisition and nurturing processes and systems, including experience with tools like HubSpot, email marketing platforms, and social media management tools.
  • Solid understanding of how to leverage email campaigns, websites, and social media within an overall demand creation approach.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with multiple teams and represent the company professionally.
  • Impeccable English language skills (written and spoken), with comfort and confidence in public speaking scenarios.
  • Ability to work collaboratively, be detail-oriented, and maintain a rigorous approach to tasks.

  • Salary: depending on profile and experience
  • Place of work:
  • 1 day at the office, located in the factory in Muntinlupa (RMT Industrial Complex)
  • 4 days work from home
